Flagstaff – Work & Travel USA (Part 1 of 6)

This actually happened in 2012 (I know, ages ago). But, I thought I could share my experience, especially for those considering work and travel! Or simply those who are interested in taking a sneak peek of western part of USA.

So here is the journey to the wild wild west of America.

As arranged by the work and travel agency, we took China Airlines to Pheonix, USA.

As usual, the view from the plane was spectacular.

In-flight entertainment was available.

Upon reaching Pheonix Airport, we took the city bus to Flagstaff.

For those travelling to Grand Canyon, you definitely would need to pass by Flagstaff. If you need a place to stay, you can consider Grand Canyon International Hostel.

A look at its interior… There is no private bathroom, so the most you have in the room is the basin. Bathrooms are shared.

The hostel provides breakfast.

The walk to Walmart…

It was a fairly long walk, but I guess you could just take the chance to admire the scenery. Walmart is huge. We got most of our essentials there. The hostel has a kitchen, so you can buy your ingredients at Walmart and avoid the more expensive meals outside.

Flagstaff is really a quiet town. Even at night, there was not much going on. A few of the pubs were opened.

To get to Grand Canyon, we made our way to the Flagstaff train station. This was the pick-up point for the Arizona Shuttle to the Canyon.
